Not located in 1860 census. Andrew J. Wheeler is in Hood Co. Texas in
1885. He was mentioned in settlement papers of Jane Wheeler as living out
of state. In 1880 census Hood Co. Texas (Soundex vol. 18, ED 141, sheet
23, line 48 & Just Prect #1)
Andrew's pension
records indicate that he was unable to work with ulcers on his leg. He
made baskets and sold them on the square in Granbury, Tx. His death
occurred while helping cut a large tree from in front of his house. The
family said it was because he ate fish and buttermilk. We know today it
had to be a heart attack. Per IIa Hayworth Breeden.
