Mrs. Elizabeth Keller
Mrs. Elizabeth Ward Keller, 74 of 18 ??? Parker Road died at 7 o'clock last night at her home after being in failing health for three months. She was born in Banks County, Georgia and was the daughter of William J. and Martha Ward. Her husband, J. D. Keller died in 1932. Survivors are one daughter Mrs. C. A. ???? of Greenville, seven sons Enos and John Keller of Greenville, Ernest of Laurens,  C. D. Keller of Danville, Va. Rufus Keller of Baltimore, Md., Lawson Keller of Framingham and Otis Keller of Atlanta; two brothers Sam Ward of Spartanburg and John Ward of Toccoa, Ga. 33 Grandchildren and 11 Great grandchildren. 

Her announcements will be made though the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. 

J. D. KELLER

J.D. Keller
J. D. Keller, 70, died early yesterday morning at his home on Georgia Avenue off the Easley Bridge Road, after an extended illness. Mr. Keller was a native of Alabama, but for many years had lived in this state, having made his home in Spartanburg county and later in Laurens. He had lived with his family in Greenville for six years. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Lizzie Ward Keller, three daughters; Mrs. Janie Phillips of South Georgia, Mrs. Georgia Payne of Alabama, Miss Goldie Keller, this city and nine sons, W. H. and Norman Keller of Athens, Ga., C. D. Keller of Danville, Va., W. E. Keller of Laurens, Rufus J. E., E. R., Otis and Lawson Keller all of Greenville. Twenty-eight grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Bethel Methodist church in Spartanburg county, the Rev. Mr. Jones officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Landrum, Jan. 26 -- Belton Kelly, 60, died at his residence here this afternoon at 1:15 o'clock following an illness of two weeks. He had made his home here a number of years and had been a member of Ingleside Baptist church. He was the son of the late John and Mrs. Stewart Kelly.
    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie Kelly; two daughters, Mrs. L.E. Hall and Miss Jessie Kelly, three grandchildren, his stepmother, Mrs. John Kelly; one brother, Horace Kelly; two half-brothers, S.W.
and Henry Kelly; one sister Mrs. Etta Campbell; two half sisters, Mrs. R.L. Henderson and Miss Lizzie Kelly.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from Ingleside Baptist church near Landrum by the Rev. C.L. Willington and the Rev. J.S. Lyons. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Bryson and Frank Morrow; Thomas Flynn, Furman Campbell, James Rudisill and Elbert West.

Died in Spartanburg on the morning of the 14th of April, 1871 MRS. MARY A.J. KENNEDY of Charleston, S.C., aged 79 years and 5 months.

   CAMPOBELLO, Jan. 12  -  Mrs. Rebecca Henson King, 65, widow of Robert King, died at Spartanburg Hospital Wednesday at 7:15 a.m. following an illness of three weeks.
   Mrs. King was born in Spartanburg County, a daughter of the late Columbus and Martha Bailey Henson. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church in Greenville County.
   Surviving are four sons, Troy, Greer, Rt. 2; Dan, Oakland, Calif; Charlie, Landrum, Route 2, and Leroy King, Lyman, Rt. 1; six daughters, Mrs. W.L. Brackett, Inman, Route 2; Mrs. C.S. Brackett, Mrs. B.C. Clayton and Mrs. Wilbur Solsbee, all of Campobello, Rt. 2; Mrs. H.H. Clayton, Greer, Rt. 3 and Mrs. Roy Rumsey, Greenville; one half-sister, Mrs. Lillie Waldrop, Greer, Rt. 2, and 25 grandchildren.
   Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Liberty Methodist Church by the Rev. Jack Phillips, the Rev.N.M. Phillips and the Rev. Faye Lanford. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.
   Pallbearers will be W.H. Souther, Robert Hammett, Leroy Fisher, M.J. Collins, B.E. Mills and Brooks Dobbins.
   The body, now at Petty Funeral Home in Landrum, will be taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. B.C. Clayton, Campobello, Rt. 2, at 2 p.m. Thursday and will be placed in the Church at 10 a.m. Friday.

 

MRS. JANE KIRBY

Gaffney, Sept. 30, 1942.- MRS. JANE KIRBY, 83 year old widow of WILLIAM COLEMAN KIRBY, died at her home in the Sunnyside community after an illness of about seven years.
MRS. KIRBY is survived by her six sons, W.B., Gaffney and T.A. KIRBY, Spartanburg, J.B. KIRBY, Jacksonville, Fla., R.M. KIRBY, Washington, D.C., and CHARLES C. KIRBY , Gaffney; 3 daughters, MRS. C.M. ELMORE, Gaffney, MRS. SCOTT JOHNSON of Johnson and MRS. V.L. GADDYS{?} of Washington, D.C.; one sister, MRS. R.J. KIRBY, Gaffney and 31 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Date of death: April 19, 1943

Funeral services for John W. Kirby, 72, well-known farmer of Pacolet, route 1, who died at a hospital here yesterday afternoon following a long illness, will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m., at Pacolet Station Methodist Church by the Rev. L.W. Lybrand.

The son of the late Richard and Cynthia Wood Kirby, he was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg county.

Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Elivia Kirby: fours sons: John C., Ernest, Clifford and Robert Kirby, all of Pacolet route 1; and three daughters, Mrs. Rowena Tenesary of Pacolet Mills and Misses Virginia and Betty Kirby, both of Pacolet, route 1.

The body is at the home.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of the J.F. Floyd mortuary.

 

ROBERT B. KIRBY

ROBERT B. KIRBY, 52, died at York County hospital yesterday after a long illness.

   He is survived by his wife, MRS. LILLIE BARNETT KIRBY;  5 daughters, MRS. GORDON BROOKS, Spartanburg, MRS. MARGARET GAFFNEY, Whitmire,  MRS. JUNITA ATCHISON, of Texas, MRS. EDDIE PEAKE and MISS JEAN KIRBY of Great Falls; 4 brothers, J.L. KIRBY, Drayton, J.B. KIRBY, Commerce, Ga., W.M. KIRBY, Forest City, and C.L. KIRBY of Wattsville; and 3 sisters,  MRS. J.H. LAURENS and MRS. G.E. CORBIN, Drayton and MRS. F.J. HAMRICK, Laurens.

   Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at Wattsville Methodist Church. Interment will be in Wattsville cemetery.

W. NEAL KNIGHT

Funeral services were held for W. NEAL KNIGHT Wednesday morning at Friendship Presbyterian church. The exercises were conducted by the pastor, DE. C.E. SULLIVAN.
MR. KNIGHT died Monday night in a Greenville hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks. His death occurred in his 74th birthday.
The deceased was a native of the western part of the county and had lived near Hickory Tavern, engaged in farming, since his marriage. He is survived by his widow and by one daughter, MRS. L.C. ABERCROMBIE and four sons, FRANK A., W.C., L.C., and D.T. KNIGHT, all of the county. He is also survived by a brother, J.ED KNIGHT and one sister, MRS. MARY CRAWFORD.
