After lingering 5 days from injuries sustained in a tractor
accident, ROYCE EUGENE TODD, the 15 year old son of MR. and MRS. D.E.
TODD, of this city, died Saturday night shortly before twelve
o'clock. The young boy was hurt Monday afternoon, June 21, while
operating a tractor with which he was plowing in a field near
Barksdale. At the time he was alone in the field. It seems he was
attempting to carry the mechine over a high terrace when the tractor
reared up and fell backward. ROYCE was caught under the steering
wheel and pinned to the ground with the tank resting across the
lower part of his body. Some children heard his calls for help and
gave the alarm.
The lad retained consciousness almost to the last and fully realized
